With its profile depth of 34 mm, the new Fulcrum Racing 4 DB represents the perfect balance between aerodynamics, handling abilities and a multi-purpose wheelset in all riding conditions. This wheelset is ideal for hilly terrain as well as mountains and are highly maneuverable on fast descents.
Fulcrum Racing 4 DB is also very popular among pros as the World Tour team uses the Racing 4 DB on all training camps which speaks volumes as to the capabilities of this wheelset.
Compared to the 2018 version the rim on the latest version is lighter through the use of CNC technology and at the same time, the rim width has increased from 17 mm to 19 mm to accomodate the trend toward wider tyres such as 25, 28 or 32 mm road tyres, which - installed on this wheelset - results in less drag than before and at the same time, increases the level of comfort.
The Racing 4 DB model is what Fulcrum refers to as 2-WAYFIT which means that the wheel works with both a clincher setup (inner tube) or tubeless setup where the inner tube is replaced by a latex sealant which is inserted into the tyre and seals the air chamber. The included tubeless valves make it easy to use this setup on your Racing 5 DB wheelset without having to buy additional valves and tape.
Racing 4 DB has rounded stainless steel spokes - 24 in front (8 right/16 left) and 24 in the rear (16 right/8 left) and in combination with the MONOBLOCK HUB FOR DISC hub provides the strength needed to absorb the forces coming from the disc brake as well as from the chain and cassette.
The FULCRUM ANTI ROTATION raises the bar in terms of the effect of the lacing. The spoke and hub design has been improved to create a spoke hole in the hub which is robust and does not allow for the spoke to rotate or move from impact during riding. This means that the wheel will always maintain the spoke tightness that it was manufactured with.
The Fulcrum technology AFS (AXIAL FIXING SYSTEM) is used for brake disc installation and this corresponds to the Center Lock system. By default, the wheelset is compatible with all road and gravel bikes using 12 mm thru axles front and rear.
Visually, this lates model has been given a very modern look with all stickers in new and contemporary graphics and the sides of the rims in an elegant matt look.
This model is light and comes in at only 1710 grams per set. It is Shimano/Sram compatible. Fulcrum Racing 4 DB also comes with Sram XDR or Campagnolo Ekar cassette body.
