  • This system maximises the pedalling efficiency and minimises the vertical ‘bobbing’ effekt.
  • The system works 100% geometrically - without the use of active help systems or remote lock-out from the handlebars.
  • The rear suspension is adjustable in two steps. It is operated on the fly using the fingers.
  • The position of the rear suspension makes a remote lock-out feature redundant.
  • The position of the rear suspension protects it from dirt and mud.
  • The position of the rear suspension ensures that the bike’s ‘virtual pivot point’ is uniquely adapted for all sizes. This means that the bike is easy to ride for riders of all heights.

This system maximises the pedalling efficiency and minimises the vertical 'bobbing' effect.

”I chose the Pronghorn Carbon Fully with APLS for the 2021 Cape Epic ..."

"Cape Epic is just super hard and the comfort aspect is very important on the long and hard stages. The APLS suspension absorbs a lot of bumps and rough sections and enables me to stay seated for longer periods of time. All of these factors help save energy..."

Why is the rear shock absorber positioned on top of the top tube?
It is an integrated feature of our unique APLS setup for geometric suspension. Also, this makes it easier to operate the lockout function during riding.

Why is there no remote lockout for the rear shock?
Geometric APLS suspension makes a remote lockout redundant. The rear shock is set up specifically for this bike by our supplier. Mane riders prefer to lock the shock absorber during long transport sections on tarmac. It is finger operated.

What are the advantages of the APLS system?
APLS works without lockout or other assistive systems. It is very easy to use because it is adapted to the individual bike size.

Should I go for a 100 or 120 mm fork?
Choose a 100 mm fork if you want to focus on pure speed on flat sections and on climbs. Choose 120 mm if you want more control on descents.

Several of the other brands use fewer moving parts in the rear suspension. Why is this?
Our bike was developed for the Danish trails (with no real mountains or rocks). Our focus has been to eliminate the many smaller bumps and rough sections coming from the surface.

Does this bike work for other genres of riding than XC?
It was built for singletracks and classic, Danish XC tracks but works fine for trail riding with 120mm travel. It was not meant for all-mountain or downhill.

Does it work for competitive racing?
It was developed for both XC and Marathon, but it is slightly more comfort-oriented than the previous 27,5 model, which means that you will make fewer errors and will be able to stay in the saddle for longer periods of time.

Can I see and try out this bike?
Yes. We have demo bikes in all sizes. Please make an appointment before visiting us to make sure.

Is it a Danish bike?
The bike was designed and developed in Denmark. In close cooperation with our manufacturers in the Far East. We assemble all bikes in Denmark.

Which colours are available?
By default, the bikes are available in black and red. However, we offer custom colours through our custom colour program.

Is it possible to make changes to the component configurations?
Yes. Contact us if you want to modify the component setup or the wheelset configuration.

Will I be able to make changes to the handlebar and stem setup?
Yes. You can specify the dimensions of the stem and the handlebars. We assemble the bikes according to your specifications.

When is the bike ready for delivery?
You can see the actual delivery time for each model.

Pronghorn’s Carbon Fully has a unique Virtual Pivot Point for each frame size.

APLS: Unique pivot point for all sizes

Pronghorn’s technology is unique by having a so-called Instant Center of Rotation. This is the virtual spot on the bike in which the actual sum of all suspension action takes place in sync with changes in the bike's geometry during riding when the shocks move up and down.

Pronghorn's Carbon Fully has a unique Virtual Pivot Point (Instant Center of Rotation) for each individual frame size. This means that the bike fits the individual rider size optimally.

One of the key concepts in the construction and design of a full suspension mountainbike is the so-called Instant Center of Rotation - also known as the Virtual Pivot Point.

This is the area of the bike in which the overall sum of movement and suspension of bearings and rotational points in the rear frame meet - virtually.

You find the ICR by extending the lines from the rear frame bearings in a forward direction and the ICR point is where these lines meet.

Many full suspension frames have the same relative pivot point for all frame sizes. Since the rear shock on Pronghorn's bikes is placed on top of the top tube the center of gravity moves relative to the frame size which optimizes the ride quality for each individual frame and rider size.
